Biomass

Biomass is a type of renewable energy that comes from organic matter created by plants during the photosynthesis process. The chemical energy of biomass can be recovered through direct burning, although it can also be transformed into fuel through physical or chemical processes in which some of the total useful energy is lost. Biomass is an alternative energy source to the usual fossil fuels, gaseous or solid, something that we take advantage of for global energy consumption, especially in the transport sector.
