In recent days, several city councils have focused on the same issue: leave garbage outside the containersTorrejón de Ardoz has launched a targeted sanctions campaign, and Coria has also issued reminders about waste disposal times and regulations to curb this practice.
The instructions are clear in both cases: waste must always be placed in the appropriate container and on time. In Torrejón, the action is part of its cleaning plan; Fines start at 90 euros for those who leave bags on public roads, while municipal services are reinforced to facilitate compliance.
Torrejón de Ardoz intensifies waste control

Mayor Alejandro Navarro Prieto has detailed that the city is launching a campaign targeting those who violate basic cleaning standards: Leaving bags outside the container will result in fines from €90The measure aims to ensure cleaner streets and strengthen respect for the urban environment.
To avoid uncontrolled spills, the council reminds that there is a free furniture collection service, operating Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m., by calling 649 279 383 or by emailing enserestorrejon@utersutorrejon.es. This service tells residents the exact location and time to drop off their belongings.
The municipal action package also includes pet-friendly living: Failure to pick up dog waste will result in a fine of €300.In addition, owners are asked to carry a water bottle to clean up urine; all dogs must be kept on a leash and, if potentially dangerous, muzzled.
The City Council emphasizes that these measures seek to avoid bad odors, pests and pollution, and promote the waste separation and the correct use of containers. Leaving any waste on public roads is not permitted.
Following the implementation of the Permanent Cleanup Shock Plan, the city council emphasizes that there will be monitoring and sanctions for those who persist in noncompliance. The message is unequivocal: garbage must be disposed of correctly and using available municipal resources.
Schedules and penalties in Coria
The Coria City Council appeals to civility and reminds people of the Coexistence Ordinance: From October to April, the organic waste deposit hours are from 19:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.Citizens are asked to follow these rules to keep the streets in good condition.
In the case of furniture and other items, they must be removed during the same time slot, but only on the 1st and 15th of each monthIf these fall on the eve of a holiday, the bag must be deposited on the day of the holiday. If a container is full, the bag must be taken to a nearby container; no waste should be left on the ground.
The council also prohibits throwing debris or pruning remains in the containers, as they damage the compaction system. Failure to comply with deposit schedules is considered a very serious offense, with fines that can reach up to 1.500 euros.
Recommendations to comply and avoid sanctions
- Deposit the bags always inside the container suitable; if it is full, use the nearest one.
- In Torrejón, use the free furniture collection service (649 279 383, enserestorrejon@utersutorrejon.es) to avoid leaving belongings on the street.
- In Coria, respect the 19: 00 to 6: 00 schedule (from October to April) and the dates enabled for furniture (1st and 15th).
