Ecological fair with exhibitors

The major event for organic products and responsible consumption returns this weekend to the Iradier Arena for its tenth edition. The free event will bring together 67 exhibitors showcasing products and services for a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle.

The event will reinforce its multi-sectoral character with stands for organic food , sustainable cosmetics, textiles, biosanitary solutions and a space dedicated to renewable energies ; in addition, bioconstruction will be present for the second year in a row.

Stand and product offerings

The gastronomic aspect will once again be the main focus, with 30 exhibitors specializing in fruit and vegetable products, dairy products, oils, eggs, mushrooms and pastries, all with organic certification and verifiable quality criteria.

There will also be locally sourced beverages: beers, ciders, and wines , many of them locally produced . Alongside local businesses, companies and organizations from various autonomous communities will participate, expanding the variety without losing sight of the organic focus.

Schedule of tastings and workshops

The program includes more than a dozen talks, tastings, culinary demonstrations and workshops aimed at both adults and children, with practical and informative content.

Among the proposals, a highlight on Friday is a tasting of organic breads (19:00 pm) by Artepan , focused on artisanal techniques and selected raw materials.

On Saturday, at 11:30 , a workshop will be held to learn how to make organic pasta , with simple recipes and tips for incorporating wholemeal flours and low-impact processes.

On Sunday, at 12:30 , a workshop on applied alchemy will be held to create essential oils and aromatherapy preparations, guided by Ricardo Romero with a didactic and safe approach.

Economic and professional impact

According to the organizers, the fair has established itself as an ideal space for direct sales and networking . Iker Knörr, head of BioAraba, emphasizes that numerous companies have successfully placed their products in shops, restaurants , and supermarkets after participating in the event.

The flow of visitors from different parts of the Basque Country and neighboring communities such as La Rioja, Burgos or Cantabria generates a significant economic impact on the city, affecting the hospitality, retail and accommodation sectors, both for the public and for the staff of the exhibiting companies.

Institutional assistance and support

The latest editions have exceeded 15.000 attendees , a figure that the Councillor for Economic Promotion, Employment, Commerce and Tourism, María Nanclares , attributes to the possibility of tasting and purchasing organic products at affordable prices, in line with healthier lifestyle habits.

The municipal commitment to the sector is reinforced through initiatives such as Basaldea , the agro-incubator that promotes new organic farming operations and facilitates agricultural entrepreneurship with support and guidance for projects.

From the Basque Government, Nora Beltrán de Otalora , Director of Food Quality and Promotion, highlights the progress of healthy, sustainable and respectful foods in a territory with an agricultural tradition and a solid primary sector that is clearly committed to organic products.
